A little preparation can make your laser hair removal appointment easier and support safer treatment.
Before your session:
● Avoid tanning and protect the treatment area from sun exposure.
● Follow your provider's instructions about shaving before treatment, commonly within the preceding 24 hours.
● Avoid waxing, plucking, or electrolysis for the recommended period because these methods remove the hair the laser targets.
● Discuss medications, skin conditions, recent skin treatments, and any history of cold sores or pigmentation problems.
● Arrive with clean skin, free from products your provider has asked you to avoid.
After treatment, follow the recommended skincare routine, protect the area from sunlight, and avoid picking or irritating treated skin. Temporary redness, swelling, or discomfort can occur. Blistering, burns, and pigment changes are less common but possible, making appropriate equipment selection and trained treatment important.
